Why our fitness, nutrition and training content is general information for British adults, and not a substitute for personalised UK medical advice.

Last updated: 26 April 2026

FitNEXT publishes general fitness, nutrition and lifestyle information aimed at adults in good general health, living in the United Kingdom. We take care to ground our work in current evidence and to involve qualified British practitioners where relevant. Even so, no website can replace the personalised assessment a clinician or coach can give you in person.

Important: The information on FitNEXT is not medical advice. It is not a diagnosis, a prescription or a treatment plan. Always consult a qualified UK clinician before making significant changes to your exercise, diet or supplementation, especially if you have a known health condition, are pregnant, are recovering from illness or injury, or are taking medication.

1. General nature of our content

FitNEXT is an editorial publication, not a clinical service. Our articles offer general guidance for the typical reader and necessarily make assumptions about the audience. They cannot account for your medical history, current medications, family history, prior injuries, training age, working pattern, sleep, stress levels or individual goals. Personalised advice requires a personalised assessment.

2. Not medical advice

Nothing on FitNEXT should be taken as a diagnosis, recommendation, prescription or treatment for any medical condition. If you have or suspect you may have a health problem, please contact your GP, NHS 111, or another suitably qualified UK clinician. In an emergency, call 999.

UK readers: where to get help

Non urgent medical advice: visit nhs.uk or call NHS 111.

Mental health support: Samaritans (call 116 123) or Mind.

Eating disorders: Beat (call 0808 801 0677).

Emergency: always call 999.

3. Exercise carries risk

All physical activity carries some risk, including muscle strains, joint injuries, falls and, very rarely, cardiac events. By following any exercise content on FitNEXT, you accept that risk and agree to:

  • Stop immediately and seek qualified advice if you experience pain, dizziness, chest discomfort, breathlessness or any unusual symptom.
  • Speak to your GP before starting a new programme if you are over 35 and inactive, have a known cardiovascular, metabolic or musculoskeletal condition, are pregnant, or have recently had surgery.
  • Use proper form, appropriate weights and a sensible warm up. When in doubt, work with a qualified UK coach in person.

4. Nutrition information

Our nutrition content is general information only and is not personalised dietary advice. If you have a diagnosed condition (for example diabetes, coeliac disease, IBS or an eating disorder), are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are taking medication that interacts with diet, please speak to a registered UK dietitian or your GP before making changes. Look for "RD" or "RNutr" after a practitioner's name to confirm UK registration with the HCPC or AfN.

5. Supplements

Supplements are food products in the UK, not medicines. They are regulated under UK food law and are not assessed for efficacy by the MHRA. Where we discuss a supplement, we describe what the evidence does and does not support. We do not prescribe. Always check label dosages, your medical history and any potential interactions with medication before taking anything new.

6. Individual results vary

Any expected outcomes mentioned on FitNEXT (for example, strength gains, fat loss, performance improvements) are based on typical patterns observed in research and coaching practice. They are not promises. Your results will depend on factors that include age, sex, genetics, training history, sleep, nutrition, stress and consistency of practice.

7. Third party content and links

FitNEXT articles may include links to or quotes from third party websites, studies and tools. We use these to support our content, but we do not control or endorse third party sites. Your use of any external resource is at your own risk and subject to the terms and privacy policies of the site you visit.

8. No warranty

FitNEXT is provided on an "as is" basis. While we make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy, we do not warrant that the content is complete, current or free from error. Our full terms of use set out the limits of our liability under the laws of England and Wales.

9. Use at your own risk

By using FitNEXT, you agree that the editorial team, contributors and FitNEXT Ltd accept no liability for any loss, injury, illness or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, any information published on the site, except where such liability cannot be excluded under UK law (for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).

10. Updates to this disclaimer

We may update this disclaimer to reflect changes in editorial scope, regulation or best practice. The "last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent substantive change.
