FitNEXT exists to give British readers practical, honest fitness guidance. This page explains how we achieve that — who writes our content, how it is reviewed, and how we correct mistakes.
Our editorial principles
- Evidence first. Every claim we make can be traced to a source — a peer-reviewed study, a respected textbook, or a named practitioner with clearly stated expertise.
- Calm language. We avoid hype, fear-based headlines, and promises we cannot keep.
- Practical over theoretical. If a guide cannot be acted on within a week, we redraft it.
- British context. We build advice around UK supermarkets, equipment, schedules and weather — not American assumptions.
- No paid influence. We do not accept payment to place, favour or review products. We have no affiliate relationships that influence editorial content.
Who writes our content
Every FitNEXT article is written by a named author with relevant credentials or professional experience. Author bios disclose qualifications, and where clinically relevant, articles are reviewed by a qualified practitioner (for example, a Registered Nutritionist or NSCA-CSCS coach). See our Authors page for the full team.
How we review
Articles go through three review stages before publication:
- Research — the author gathers evidence and outlines the piece.
- Editorial review — a second editor checks for accuracy, clarity and British English style.
- Technical review — medical, clinical or safety-sensitive topics are reviewed by a qualified practitioner before publication.
How we update articles
Every published article carries a visible “Last updated” date. We revisit high-traffic pieces at least annually and update them whenever new credible evidence materially changes a recommendation. Minor corrections are made silently; substantive changes are flagged at the top of the article.
How to flag a correction
If you spot a factual error, outdated information, or a source we should consider, please email corrections@fitnext.co.uk. We respond to every correction request and publicly note the change when a substantive update is made.
